What is the course about?
Sustainability means building the planet; building societies; and feeding into an economy. We need to look after all three to allow for future generations. This course looks at what we actually mean by sustainability and resilience, from a global and South African perspective.
Course objectives
At the end of this course you will be able to:
- Explain the global context for sustainability
- Identify characteristics that make a farm truly sustainable
- Explain why sustainability is good for business

Who should take the course?
On the farm: The course is designed for a wide range of people including: senior managers, junior managers and supervisors.
Beyond the farm: There are many stakeholders who would gain from a better understanding of how sustainability can be applied on a farm. This includes people working in import and export companies and students of agriculture and business who will be the sustainability leaders of the future.
Course Time
The course will take you approximately 30 minutes to complete. You have 3 months to complete it.
How am I assessed?
At the end of the course there is a quiz which you have to pass to qualify for a certificate of completion. You will receive this after you have completed the course.
