What is the course about?
Water is considered a key enabler for the future sustainability of farms and global food production. In this course we address the reasons why water is a sustainability issue and how water management is linked to a more sustainable farm.
Course objectives
At the end of this course you will be able to:
- Understand the importance of managing water use towards being a sustainable farm
- Identify the characteristics of a sustainable farm with regards to water use
- Use relevant indicators to measure improvement in water use
- Use the Improvement Cycle to monitor and measure improvement in water use

Who should take the course?
On the farm: The course is designed for a wide range of people including: senior managers, junior managers and supervisors.
Beyond the farm: There are many stakeholders who would gain from a better understanding of how sustainability can be applied on a farm. This includes people working in import and export companies and students of agriculture and business who will be the sustainability leaders of the future.
Course Time
The course will take you approximately 30 minutes to complete. You have 3 months to complete it.
How am I assessed?
At the end of the course there is a quiz which you have to pass to qualify for a certificate of completion. You will receive this after you have completed the course.
